Why I Do What I Do?

I was asked the other day why I choose to clean homes.

That’s a great question.

As a husband and father, I know the importance of spending time with the ones I love. I also know how difficult it can be to find the time among all the obligations that compete for our time. If you’re a two income family, most of your time is spent away from home. The dishes tend to stack up, laundry piles high, and the dust… you did notice it right?

Spending time with my family while having all of the household chores not done is kind of like sitting with an elephant in the room. You can do things around it, but it’s still in the way (unless you like the idea of an elephant in your house, then ignore this analogy) and an eyesore too.

Some of the greatest memories for me, is when I’ve been able to come home after a long day and just be with my wife and kids. I don’t have to pickup the house, do the dishes, wipe down the counters, or vacuum the floors. Why? It was done before I got home and we didn’t have to be concerned with cleaning up before playing.

I know that most people can clean their homes themselves. Yes, I agree that kids should learn to do chores and help around the house. I teach mine the same, even the 2 year old helps. And no, I don’t believe that a clean home is more important than spending time with family, but try not cleaning your home for a while and see how you feel.  It has a way of zapping my energy.

However, there are those times when it’s just good not to deal with the everyday chores, spend time with family, and not have to choose between the two.

That’s why I clean. If I can help you enjoy one night a month, a week, or whenever you need with your family… then I feel I’ve provided the best service I can.
